Former World Cup Shannon Briggs (60–6–1, 53 KO) plans to restore a professional career after a nine -year break.

Initially, the American agreed the battle with his compatriot Oliver McCol (60–14–1, 39 KOs, which was to take place on July 1. The match was canceled due to Shannon trauma in a training camp.

Promotor Jimmy Adams reported that Briggs did not refuse to go back to the ring, but at the moment the unknown name of the future opponent:

“Shannon injured his knee and was forced to shift his fight on August 5. He will fight on the Country Box show. We do not know who will become the next Boxer rival. The option with McCol may remain, ”the promoter said.

The last American ex-champion was fighting in May 2016, when in the first round was knocked out by a little-known Argentine Emilio Srate. In 2010, Briggs tried to select the WBC title from Vitaliy Klitschko, but gave way to a unanimous decision of the judges.
