“Edward Jordansock can lead the Romanian team after the 2026 World Cup”, – WRITE: Sport.ua
If the team is qualified at the World Cup 2026, Mircea Lucescu will remain until the final part of the tournament. If not, leave the team after the last match in front of the mundial. The main reason for this decision is Lucescu – the age: he will be 80 years old, and he believes that he will no longer be able to work effectively as the head coach.
Since Lucescu finally decided to leave, the leadership of the Federation, headed by Mikhai Stoykice and Revan Burlyana, quickly reoriented and made a decision. The ideal candidate for the head of the head coach they consider the former mentor of the national team – Edward Jordanzk.
He is currently working in Legia (Warsaw), with which has a two -year contract. However, FRF hopes that they will be able to persuade him to return to the national team since the summer of next year. Burlyana and Stoykice believe that after a year at the Edie club will change his mind and continue the business started a few years ago.

The Technical Commission has analyzed the situation in recent years and believes that Edie Jordenesca is the best choice for the national team. According to sources, one of the representatives of the federation was already talking with his father former trainer-Anhele Jordanzko. FRF hopes that the father will be able to influence or at least emotionally adjust the son to return. An additional argument in favor of this return is the support of players who are positive about the former mentor.
Earlier, after victory over San Marino with a score of 5: 1, Mircha Lucescu stated that he could leave the national team at any time:
“If I cannot make remarks at my age, advise, criticize – who can? Coach at 30 years old? I’m 80, I can say everything I see fit. I have already said and repeated again-I can go at any time. I came to help. I have no other obligations. If people do not understand that this team should switch to another level. I wait for the youth to show a good result and that we can lift several players to the national team. We should not stay with the same composition. ”
