Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that more than 20,000 criminal proceedings have been found in Ukraine concerning economic entities – much more than the previous Dashboards were shown. All these cases will be thoroughly tested.
According to Kravchenko, the results of the quantitative audit testified to a serious problem. Dashboard data showed only 6 249 cases, while the real number – more than 20 thousand.
The Prosecutor General outlined three possible scenarios for further development:
Closing cases that have not been investigated for years and do not contain evidence of the crime – under Art. 284 of the CPC of Ukraine.
Additional examinations in cases where evidence is not enough to establish the truth. In the absence of a crime, the case will also be closed.
The transfer to the court of cases that already have examinations or reported suspicion.
Kravchenko assured that the legal business will be released from unreasonable pressure from law enforcement: “Numerous searches, challenges for interrogation and other manifestations of intervention will be stopped.”
He also urged entrepreneurs to communicate with law enforcement agencies and promised to take into account all the evidence given by the defense party.
“I am exclusively for a transparent and open work mechanism. And for me there is no one more equal than others, ”the Prosecutor General emphasized.
Earlier, we wrote that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the appointment of Ruslan Kravchenko to the post of Attorney General. 273 MPs voted for the corresponding decision on June 16.
