It will also lead to losses for the ultrasound in the amount of half a billion hryvnias. This is stated in a letter from the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Ukraine) to Minister of Development Alexei Kuleba.

“The railway infrastructure of Ukraine remains the basis of critical cargo flows and is the foundation of the logistics and economic stability of the state. Therefore, all changes in tariff regulation should be evaluated not only in terms of short -term effect for the enterprise, but also through the prism of long -term macroeconomic stability, exportation and exporting. ICC Ukraine.

They recalled that container transportation is a strategically important area, and their development is one of the key vectors of the development of UZ as a new generation logistics operator. Successful integration into a single EU market is also based on the availability of modern container logistics, and Ukraine is confidently moving in this direction.

“This sector has a distinct growth dynamics: in recent years, the market of container transportation has been demonstrating annual growth at 6%, despite war.

The Committee emphasized that the losses from raising tariffs will be significant: according to preliminary estimates of experts, the introduction of new rates will reduce the volume of transportation, and the UZ itself risks losing up to UAH 400 million in case of reorientation of shippers to road transport, which will become more economically viable after the introduction of changes.

“Such a reorientation will lead to an additional burden on road infrastructure and, accordingly, an increase in budget costs for its maintenance, which is unacceptable in the conditions of military shortage of resources. Foreign investors who today consider Ukrainian container logistics as a promising direction of investment, which can also be viewed. Ukraine.

The Committee called on the Minister to preserve the current tariff model for international transportation of containers, which are carried out by SMGS/TIM, which directly influence Ukraine’s integration into TEN-T, development of exports, attracting European cargoes and the creation of competitive logistics services.

“Particular attention should be paid to the role of container transportation in providing Ukrainian exports to the EU. Any increase in tariffs in this segment will directly affect the export capacity of Ukrainian producers, reducing their competitiveness and forcing production through logistics. revenues, ” – emphasized at ICC Ukraine.
