Expilot F1: “Something is happening here. I think he is nervous because of Ferstappen ”

Martin Brandl about the situation around Mercedes pilots and ed bull”, – WRITE: Sport.ua

Expilots Formula-1 Martin Brandl believes that George Russell begins to be nervous by increasing speculation around Max Ferstappen’s possible transition to Mercedes. Russell’s contract with the team ends at the end of the season, but the new agreement has not yet been agreed, despite the public statements of Mercedes Head Totto Wolf about the ease in the negotiations.

According to Brandl, this may be due to the fact that Wolf has long been seeking to sign Ferstappen, because the future of the Dutch in Red Bull remains uncertain. Although Ferstappen’s contract is valid by the end of 2028, it has a termination point that allows him to go for the 2026 season, if he does not find himself in the three championship leaders in the summer of the current season.

On the eve of the Grand Prix of the United Kingdom, Ferstappepen ranks third in the championship with 155 points, and Russell-second, laging only 9 points. Bull insists on continuing the contract with Ferstapppen, but the pilot himself has not made official statements.

I think George Russell is nervous and calling everyone around, ”said Brandl on Sky Sports F1.

There is no smoke without fire. 2026 will bring the greatest changes in the history of formula-1, concerning chassis and power units. Can I assume that Mercedes will be among the leaders, but will Max be able to terminate her contract?

Something is happening here, – the expert summed up.
