“The European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Marosh Shefchovich, stated that the new version of the version of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (PVZVT) between Ukraine and the EU has set a number of additional restrictions on exporting certain types of Ukrainian agricultural products to the European Union, including eggs, and the EU, and the EU, and the EU) is imposing.”, – WRITE: www.pravda.com.ua

Details: The volumes of some sensitive goods (eggs, sugar and wheat) exported from Ukraine to the EU will be limited by quotas, which are nevertheless larger than previously established in PVZVT.

“For sensitive goods such as eggs, sugar and wheat, quotas have increased, but have remained below the historical volume of trade in order to ensure the stability of the EU market. For less sensitive products, quota products were increased moderately and some products will be fully liberalized,” Shefchovich said.
He added that, in turn, “Ukraine will increase the quotas for the export of pork, poultry and sugar, as well as reduce or cancel duties on other goods.”
This will increase export opportunities for European farmers, especially in the EU Member States neighboring countries.
“We have also agreed to revise this Agreement in the coming years, taking into account Ukraine’s economic integration and its progress in approaching EU standards,” the European Commissar said.
It is worth noting that The agreement has not yet been finalized and has not yet come into force: there is only to achieve a fundamental agreement of the parties. Ukraine and the EU will now work on revision of the technical elements of the agreement.
EU Member States and the European Parliament will be informed of the details of the agreement in the coming days.
Upon completion of technical work, the EU and Ukraine will start appropriate procedures for formal approval of the revised PVZWT.
From the EU side – The European Commission will approve the EU Council’s decision to approve the agreement. After that, the agreement will be officially approved by the Association Committee between Ukraine and the EU.
Recall:
- As reported by “European Pravda”, Ukraine and the EU were fundamentally agreed on new conditions of trade instead of “trade visa waiver”
- Even at the end of April, “European truth” wrote that the European Commission did not plan to continue the regime of autonomous trade measures for Ukraine (the so -called “trade visa waiver”), which operates until June 5, but will ensure a smooth transition to a new scheme, in accordance with Article 29 of the Association Agreement: where all the conditions of liberalization will be recorded.
