The Government proposes to increase the funding of defense forces this year by UAH 412 billion

The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated almost 1 trillion hryvnias for security and defense needs during the first 5 months of this year-Prime Minister Denis Shmigal announced this at a government meeting on June 25.

According to him, these are two -thirds of the state budget expenditures and 34% more for similar expenditures last year.

Also today, the Cabinet of Ministers adopts a bill on changes to the state budget for 2025, the Prime Minister said:

“We propose to increase the funding of the security and defense forces of Ukraine this year by UAH 412 billion. Of these, nearly 311 billion is provided for the Ministry of Defense. ”

Another 100 billion government proposes to direct the capabilities of the Ministry of Stratege, the National Guard, the State Border Service, the SBU and the Main Directorate of Intelligence – “that is, all those who destroy enemies and create effective tools to become less on Ukrainian land.”

Also, added Shmigal, the bill involves the direction of 6.3 billion of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, in particular, for the development of defense innovations.

“In total, we plan to increase the expenditures of the general fund of the state budget by UAH 449 billion. The sources of covering these expenditures are an increase in budget revenues and an increase in internal borrowing, ”the head of government summed up.

State Budget of Ukraine for 2025 provided record expenditures at 3,94 trillion hryvniasof them expenditures for defense are UAH 2.22.
