According to the head of the Ministry of Defense at a meeting with journalists on June 27, last year Ukraine developed a plan of systemic long -range operations and regulated several tens of thousands of long -range drones, “which allowed to regularly strike high -precision purposes for critical purposes in the depth of the enemy.”
“About two weeks ago, it was decided to increase the number of operations several times, and the contract is prepared for new tens of thousands of long -range drones to increase the intensity and scale of blows,” IU reported.
The minister also added that Ukraine is increasing its own industrial capacity of drone production, and now, according to him, Ukrainian manufacturers have reached a level, which allows to produce more than four million drones a year.
“This year we will have more than four million drones on the front. As of today, the front has received up to 1.5 million drones – it is all purchases, and AOPs, and the State Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine, and directly brigades. Last year, we had a lot of appeals from the brigades so that they were directly funded. The Cabinet of Ministers and I worked it and allocated separate funding to the brigades. Today, we allocate UAH 2.5 billion to brigades a month to buy directly, ”Umerov said.
In addition, he said, now the Defense Procurement Agency is introducing Dot Chain Defense. “He will work simply. The brigades see the “Marketplace” of drones – every brigade orders what she needs, and AOP pays it. So we significantly reduce the entire bureaucracy, and the crews get what they need, ”he added.
Earlier this month, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian drone producers have the opportunity to increase production by 40 percent of this year. At the same time, according to him, the opportunities of the Ukrainian budget to finance the production of drones with domestic defense remain limited and do not reach the volume of available production facilities.
After the start of a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, Russian regions regularly undergo shelling and attacks of drones. The Russian Defense Ministry reports on whipped missiles and drones over Russia. Kyiv often does not comment on these messages.
