Fritz: “I will feel emptiness if I do not win a great helmet tournament”

American tennis player gave an interview the Guardian”, – WRITE: Sport.ua

27-year-old American tennis player Taylor Fritz For the first time in his career he reached the finals of the Great Helme tournament – at the Open US Championship last season. However, the American could not impose the struggle of Jannik Sinner and was defeated.

He is now ranked fifth in the world’s ATP ranking and has long been showing serious progress in his game, although he has not succeeded in decisive matches on Maidors.

He told about this and more in an interview with The Guardian.

In search of the title of Great Helme

“This is the only reason I continue to play. I think I will feel emptiness if I do not reach it. I would think about it all my life. Perhaps Wimbledon is the best chance for me to win Major. Not sure that even on US Open I will have more opportunities. I never thought I had an endless amount of time. I always felt that I had to do it as soon as possible. ”

Who is more complicated – Alaras or Sinner?

“I would say that Carlos was the most difficult rival for me, but with a warning: when we played on the Liver Cup last year, I met with his best version – then it seemed that nothing could be done. Although Sinner won me several times, confidently, in those matches, I at least felt that I could play tennis. And with Carlos in Lever Cup 80-90% of the time seemed that I could not oppose anything at all… ”

The evolution of the player

“I always liked to compete in tennis. As a kid, I did not like to train. Sometimes he even invented injuries to avoid workouts. But over time, I began to enjoy the feeling after a good workout, when I put it into full.

You need to have great confidence in yourself and believe in your own strength. You need to be a little naive – in a good way. When I was 14, I was not so so a strong player, but I often fantasized that I would surely succeed. I really believed it, and without this faith, I would not be here. I will never condemn anyone for words that may sound dreamily or even unrealistic. ”

The fourth world racket will try to protect the title in the British Eastborne
