Oleksandr Tsivinsky was born in Lviv region. He began his career in 2003, working as investigators in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is a lawyer by profession. In total, it has more than 20 years of experience in the law enforcement system.
Oleksandr Tsivinsky has been working at the National Anti -Corruption Bureau since 2015. He currently heads the third unit of detectives as part of the second NABU unit. During his service he participated in the investigation of a number of resonant cases. In particular, Tsivinsky managed Investigative group in the case against former MP Sergei Pashinsky. The vacancy of the Director of the Bureau of Economic Security has aroused great interest in both Ukraine and international partners. In June, the Security Service of Ukraine provided information that part of the candidates for the post of head of Beb have close relatives living in the Russian Federation. Among them was Alexander Tsin. Representatives of the Ukrainian part of the competition commission insisted on carrying out additional inspection of such candidates, which led to a delay in the final stage.
On June 9, an event took place, which many regarded as an attempt to disrupt the competition. Three of the six members of the commission delegated to the government did not appear at the meeting. Due to the lack of quorum, the interview failed.

The appointment of a new head of Bab is of particular importance, because this body has been working for over a year without a permanent head. Lack of stable leadership adversely affected on the efficiency of the Beb. The Ambassadors of the Great Seven have repeatedly emphasized the Ukrainian authorities on the need to restart the bureau. They called for an open and transparent competition for the position of director.
