The Council of Europe has confirmed the signing of the Agreement with Ukraine on the special tribunal on June 25

The Council of Europe confirmed that on June 25, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alen Berce will sign an agreement on the creation of a special tribunal to investigate the crimes of aggression against Ukraine.

Details: A statement about the special tribunal in the Council of Europe was made after the Committee of Ministers of the CoE on Tuesday authorized the Secretary -General to sign an agreement covering the charter of this tribunal.

“This tribunal, created under the Council of Europe, will hold those who have used the force in violation of the UN Charter, applying international law without double standards and confirming that Europe’s security is not based on silence or impunity, but on law, principles and actions,” Bese said.

Earlier, the Ukrainian side reported about the signing of the special -purpose agreement.

This will happen within the framework of the first visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the Council of Europe on June 25.
