New Zealand will provide Ukraine with a new package of $ 16 million (more than $ 9.4 million). The package will include both military and humanitarian aid.
This was reported by Prime Minister Christopher Laxon and the Foreign Minister Winston Peters on the eve of NATO Summit in the Hague, said in a statement by the Government of New Zealand.
In particular, 4 million New Zealand dollars ($ 2.3 million) will be sent to multinational funds that provide Ukraine with lethal and non -lethal assistance – NATO Security Support (NSATU) and Drone Coalition coordinated by Britain and Latvia.
“The defense of Ukraine has significant consequences not only for the safety of the Euro-Atlantic region, but also of the Indo-Pacific. We must continue to cooperate with other members of the international community to maintain a order based on the rules that serves all our interests, ”Peters stressed.
Another 7 million New Zealand dollars ($ 4.1 million) will be sent to support the affected communities inside Ukraine, and $ 1 million ($ 593,000) to help Ukrainians who have found shelter in neighboring countries.
“The scale of needs remains enormous, as Russia continues to bombard the densely populated civilian regions of Ukraine,” Prime Minister Laxon added.
Wellington reminded that there were recently imposed sanctions against the Russian “shadow fleet” and persons involved in the continuation of the war.
“It is extremely important for the international community to continue to press on Russia, so that it will cease war and join efforts to achieve just and long peace in Ukraine,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs added.
We will remind, Belgium and Turkey have expressed their intention to join the international “coalition of drones” for Ukraine, headed by Latvia and Britain.
Earlier, Sweden’s Defense Minister Paul Johnson signed the access to a coalition of drones on behalf of Stockholm at NATO summit in Washington.
The Netherlands also joined the International Drone Coalition for Ukraine. The country will provide our country with advanced drone technologies to strengthen the offensive opportunities in the war against the Russian Federation.
