Prime Minister Denis Shmigal met with ambassadors of the European Union-he reported this in his telegram channel on June 20.

According to him, the parties discussed the coordination of efforts to counteract Russian aggression and strengthen Ukraine’s support. In particular, Shmigal pointed to an increase in the need to expand military, financial and humanitarian support of Ukraine against the background of new Russian attacks.

“He raised the issue of sanctions against the aggressor. He thanked for the adoption of 17 packages of sanctions. It is important to increase pressure on the Russian economy, in particular, on sectors such as the metallurgical, nuclear and chemical industry, the sphere of IT services and finances. The fundamental issue is the confiscation of frozen Russian assets, ”Shmigal said.

“He also spoke about current government priorities that are closely linked to our European integration track: economic sustainability, business support, reconstruction and strengthening of defense-industrial potential. We are counting on cluster negotiations as soon as possible, ”the Prime Minister said.

He added that Kyiv rests with the EU Member States within the new SAFE tool of 150 billion euros to meet defense needs.

On June 10, the European Commission presented proposals for the 18th package of sanctions, which provide, in particular, a ban on transactions related to both “northern streams”, the ban on imports of petroleum products from Russian raw materials, reducing the marginal price for oil up to $ 45 per barrel.
