According to Macron, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro will meet in Geneva with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi in order to convey a “full diplomatic and technical proposal for negotiations.”
“Iran has to demonstrate a willingness to join the negotiation site we offer,” French President said during a speech at a airfare in Le-Bourgea near Paris.
Macron emphasized the need to return to meaningful negotiations with Iran, covering the nuclear program, ballistic developments, restrictions on Iranian capacities, as well as the cessation of financing of terrorist groups that destabilize the region.
He noted that the proposal, which Barro and his German and British colleagues will put forward Arakchi later on Friday, will have four aspects.
The first involves the renewal of the IAEA with “access to all objects” so that Iran goes to the full cessation of uranium enrichment, Macron said.
The second and third aspects will include the supervision of Iran’s ballistic activities and funding for their proxy in the region.
The fourth aspect is the release of Iran’s “hostages”, said Macron, referring to foreigners imprisoned by the Islamic Republic, including two citizens of France.
Macron stated that “no one should ignore the risk that Iran possesses nuclear weapons,” adding that the Islamic Republic is an “existential threat” to Israel.
At the same time, the French president criticized the extent of Israel’s military strikes that went beyond nuclear or ballistic infrastructure.
“I believe that strokes on civil infrastructure, energy facilities and peaceful population should be stopped immediately. No goal justifies it,” Macron emphasized.
He also warned Israel that only military means could not neutralize the Iranian nuclear threat
On June 20, the UK Foreign Ministers, France and Germany, as well as the Toplodaloka EU Kai Callas will hold negotiations with Iran As for his nuclear program.
Meanwhile British Prime Minister Kir Starmer called the US President to leave open Opportunities for Nuclear Iran’s Nuclear Program.
