SBU: The main prison of the Russian Federation was sentenced to 10 years for the creation of torture in Kherson region

The Security Service of Ukraine reports that according to its materials, the director of the Federal Sentence Service of Russia Arkady Khidev was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the creation of a network of torture on the occupied Russian Federation of the Left Bank of Kherson region.

“It was by his orders that the Rashists converted the penitentiary institutions captured in the region, to which the participants of the resistance movement were imprisoned. In the victims, the victims are subjected to brutal torture, through which they try to break the resistance of the Kremlin regime. As the investigation established, the official personally coordinated the arrangement of prison objects on a temporarily occupied part of the region. Subsequently, he included them in the general register of prisons of Russia and made a corresponding decision through the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, ”the message reads.

As noted in the SBU, the court found Zvyev guilty of the article “Actions aimed at a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power.”

“Since the attacker is in the territory of the aggressor country, comprehensive measures are underway to hold him accountable for crimes against our country,” the security service added.

In April, investigators confirmed the systematic use of torture in 29 maintenance sites: 18 of them-in Russia, 11-in the occupied territories. In total, at least 18,000 people can be placed there.

In its report “deafening silence”, human rights organization Amnesty International noted that the Russian authorities exposed Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilian hostages torture, long -term maintenance without connection with the outside world and other types of inhuman treatment that are military crimes and crimes against humanity. At the same time, the Russian authorities refuse international organizations to access them, which is part of a purposeful policy aimed at bringing prisoners of war from the protection of international law, Amnesty considers.
