The US Tennis Association (USTA) reported that the updated paired medicine format will take place in the days of the US Open Championship (August 19-20).
The following participants are known to date: Jannik Sinner will make a couple with Emma Navarro, Carlos Alaras will play with Emma Radukana, Novak Djokovich will form a Serbian duet with Olga Danilovich, and Alexander Zverev will go to court with Belinda Benchich. China Zeno Zinven will play with British Jack Draper, Iga Swontek – with Casper Rud, Jessica Pegula – with Tommy Paul, and Jasmine Paolini – with Lorenzo Musetti. Some stated couples are even in a relationship: Naomi Osaka and Nick Kiriyos, Paul Bados and Stephenos Cycations.
All matches will be held either at Arthur Ash or Luis Armstrong Stedium.
In the grid – 16 pairs. According to the results of the registration, which will end on July 28, the eight best duets (by the amount of ratings in a single category) will be directly. The other eight teams will be selected by special invitations (Wild Cards) that will be announced later. For example, pairs of Swontek / Rud, Bados / Cythus, Raducan / Alaras and Osaka / Kiriaos are not currently among the eight are the best in the rating, but can get a Wild Card.
The format of the tournament will be unusual. The matches will be held up to two victorious sets, each set – up to four games, no benefits. The 4: 4 account is a Tai Breik.
