On June 16, it became known that the 2024/25 season of the Israeli Basketball League was completed ahead of time due to the aggravation of the military conflict with Iran.
The championship was stopped at the final series between McCabi Tel Aviv and Jerusalem Jerusalem.
This decision was made because of fears for the safety of players.
Currently, the Basketball Federation is considering how to formally complete the championship. It is about determining the winner.
Among the options are to recognize the competition that have not been completed and not officially identify the champion, or to reward both teams with the title.
Recall that the U-23 Israeli national team was forced to withdraw from the League of Nations on Basketball 3×3 because of the war in the country.
