As of today, equality is ensured in the payment of prizes between men and women both in the tournaments of the Great Helmet and in joint competitions of the WTA 1000 and ATP 1000, which take place in the same arena.
However, the differences remain quite striking in some cases. A striking example of such differences is the annual ATP 500 tournament and the restored WTA 500 in London, organized by Queen’s Club.
The women competed last week, and the German tennis player Tatiana Maria, who won the finale, earned $ 164,000.
The day before, the official statement of LTA (British Tennis Federation) reported that “it completely eliminates the difference between the ATP and WTA prizes in these tournaments no later than 2029.”
