General Staff: There were 99 combatants at the front from the beginning of the day, about a third – in the Pokrovsky direction

There were 99 combat clashes from the beginning of this day, about a third of them in the Pokrovsky direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported on June 16.

“In the Pokrovsky direction, Russian invaders made 32 attempts to squeeze our defenders from the positions in the areas of settlements of Popi Yar, Mirolyubivka, Shevchenko First, Ray, Lucky, Novosergiyivka, Nadikhove, Kotlykhivka, Novopavlivka, Andriyivka and Oleksiyivka. Defense forces restrain the pressure and reflect 25 enemy attacks, seven battles are still ongoing, ”the message reads.

In addition, according to the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions since the beginning of the day, 17 ammunition took place, of which five continued, in the Novopavlovsky direction the Ukrainian forces successfully reflected 17 assaults, two more attacks continue, in the Toretsky direction of the army of the Russian Federation.

The General Staff also reported fighting in the South Slobozhansky direction, Kupyansk, Lymansky, Siversky, Kramatorsk, Gulyaypil, Orikhiv, Dnieper directions.

The Pokrovsky direction in the Donetsk region remains one of the hottest areas of the front. Over the last year, the largest number of combat clashes is mainly recorded there.

On May 22, Radio Liberty Donbass reported that Russia in Donbass intensified the offensive in several directions, seeking to surround Konstantinovka – an important railway knot and a stronghold of Ukrainian defense.
