During his stay in Kiev, Pistorius plans to negotiate with the Ukrainian leadership on further military assistance.
Particular attention will pay special attention to the supply of modern weapons, including air defense systems that are critical for the protection of Ukrainian cities from rocket attacks by the Russian Federation.
The issue of preparation of Ukrainian military at Germany and expanding cooperation in the field of defense will also be discussed.
Pistorius’s visit to Kiev is another confirmation that Berlin remains one of Ukraine’s key partners in the fight against Russian aggression.
In recent months, Germany has significantly intensified support, including additional air defense systems, ammunition and armored vehicles to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian leadership has repeatedly emphasized the importance of such assistance to strengthen the country’s defense capability.
According to Pistorius, Germany will continue to support Ukraine as much as it will be needed. He stressed that Ukrainians demonstrate incredible resistance in the confrontation of the aggressor, and the international community should remain united in the issue of support of Kiev.
The Minister also noted that the issue of Ukraine’s security has a direction influence on the stability of the whole of Europe.
