In Turkish Fenerbahche there was a serious dilemma about further cooperation with the head coach Jose Mourinho. According to the authoritative edition of Fotomac, the management of the Istanbul Club is dissatisfied with the results of the 2024/25 season and considers the possibility of changing the mentor.

However, the situation is complicated by the financial side of the issue. The contract with the Portuguese specialist states the compensation item in case of early termination – the amount is 15 million euros. Such payment is a serious burden for the club, so Fenerbahche has not made the final decision.

One of the main candidates for replacement of Mourinho is Ismail Kartal, who is currently headed by Iranian Persepolis. The trainer already has experience in the structure of Fenerbahche, which makes it a convenient option in case of change of the mentor.

The club expects that the situation will be clear in the near future, as the team should start preparation for the new season in July.

Earlier, Mourinho denied negotiations with the Portuguese Federation.
