Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga instructed the Embassy in Belgium to take control of the case of murder of the wife and daughter of the Ukrainian military.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports about it.
“Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga has instructed the Embassy of Ukraine in Belgium to keep a case on the death of two citizens of Ukraine – Mother and Daughter in Hasgrode in Haszrode, born in 1979 and 2019,” the statement reads.
The ministry confirmed that the bodies of two victims were found when extinguishing a fire in the house.
Consular staff are already in contact with their dead and local police and prosecutors.
The circumstances of the death and the causes of this incident are established.
“The prosecutor’s office of the city of Leoven opened criminal proceedings, investigative actions are ongoing. Ukrainian diplomats will continue to provide the necessary consular assistance and inform the public about the course of the investigation, ”the Foreign Ministry added.
