The head of OP Andriy Yermak said this, according to the official website.
He argues that the recent visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the United States, led by the first Viceremer Yulia Sviridenko, aimed at the preparation of a possible meeting of Zelensky and Trump during the Seven Group Summit in Canada.
“Our visit was a preparation, including, I think that meetings between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President Trump in the G7 meetings in Canada, which will take place for 10 days. It was one of the important steps of preparing this conversation,” Yermak said.
According to him, it was also about continuing military assistance to Ukraine. He stressed that the congressmen who participated in the meeting supported the continuation of military assistance and the sale of weapons for Ukraine to partner states. Yermak noted:
“Ukraine expects that the US Senate will support the bill on strengthening sanctions against Russia and the introduction of secondary restrictions on countries and companies that help the aggressor state bypass sanctions.”
