Details: Poland has been trying to buy new multi -purpose helicopters for the army for ten years. In 2015, at the last moment, the Government of “Right and Justice” refused the purchase agreement of 50 French Caracaal helicopters.

Ten years later, a similar maneuver before the purchase of 32 American helicopters in Black Hawk was carried out by the Donald Tusk government.
“There was a significant change in circumstances, which resulted in the procedure or execution of the order did not correspond to the interests of society, which could not be predicted earlier,” said a spokesman for the agency for the purchase of weapons, Lieutenant Colonel Grzegozh Polak.
He added that the weapons agency conducts procurement procedures on the basis of central material plans developed by higher military bodies. S-70i helicopters are an export version of well-known multi-purpose Black Hawk, produced at PZL Mielec, which belongs to the Lockheed Martin concern.
The plans had the next order of 32 Black Hawk, which were to get to the Air Forces. It is this order that is now canceled.
The Polish soldiers are still waiting for 96 APache AH-64D combat helicopters, ordered last year. Their delivery is scheduled for 2028-2032. They will replace Mi-24 helicopters now.
