According to the text of the Presidential Decree Volodymyr Zelensky on June 6, Serhiy Nuzhnenko was awarded “for a significant personal contribution to the development of domestic journalism and information sphere, courage and dedication, revealed during the coverage of events of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

The Order of Merit II received a television journalist of the International Reuters Information Agency Ivan Lyubish-Krardi, who also previously worked in the structure of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. During a business trip to Kramatorsk in August 2024 he was injured as a result of the Russian shelling of the Sapphire Hotel, after the shelling, the journalist was in Komi for several months and is now being restored.
The Order of Courage of the 3rd degree was awarded a journalist, leading programs and senior lieutenant of the Armed Forces reserve Maxim Butkevich. He was captured in June 2022 while performing a combat mission in Luhansk region. In October 2024 it was exchanged.
Also, the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree was awarded Vladlen Maraev-the author and the presenter of the YouTube channel “History without myths”, a leading researcher of the Research Center of Humanitarian Problems of the Armed Forces.
Among the awarded Order “For Merit” of the 3rd degree is Ruslan Gannushchak – a military photographer, operator, reporter. On January 11, 2025, he died during the fighting in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
