The President has instructed to work out options for raising salaries for teachers, said Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovy.

According to the UNIAN correspondent, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovy reported this during the Conference “Education of New Ukraine”.
“In general, we need more than 300 billion hryvnias to enforce the relevant article of the Law on Education. Of course, we do not find that amount during the war. In the 2025 budget, we have managed to find 12 billion hryvnias for the President’s assignment and the efforts of the President and the efforts of the Prime Minister.”
According to Lisovy, this amount will cover the surcharges in the form of 1000 UAH in the first half of the year and 2000 UAH from September 1 for each Ukrainian teacher.

Teachers’ surcharges: What is knownAccording to UNIAN, since January 2025, for all teachers of general secondary education, regardless of their experience or place of employment, a supplement has been introduced. At the same time, the government’s decision did not apply to preschool and out -of -school education teachers, as well as teachers of vocational education institutions and colleges.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andriy Vitrenko stated that since September 1 this year the supplement to teachers will be 2000 UAH. As of today, there is a supplement to the salary of teachers in the amount of 1000 UAH.
