Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Dmitry Kryskiv summed up the season, and also commented on a draw with a movement in the last round of UPL.
– Dmitry, today the last match of the season took place, you can summarize. What are your conclusions?
– We create a lot of moments, we really have good opportunities in the half of the opponent’s field, but we score only one ball, and not more, and then pass from some micromoment. As a result – a draw, we must create occasions again, but we cannot bring the match to victory. This was the case in the middle of the season, so we can say that we spent the season on the same note as the final match. Probably, we have to dig into ourselves and understand that it is not so much in each of us, because it is the players who are responsible for the result and playing the field. We need to find answers and change this next season.
– Today you have a very pleasant moment with you – you went on the field as a captain. What are the feelings?
– The feeling is very pleasant, because I received such a great responsibility in such a large club as Shakhtar. Going out on a captain’s band is a great pride for me, I could only dream of it. I was a captain of the youth team, but this is my first match in the status of the first team captain, so I want to sincerely thank the coach for showing me such respect. Today I gave all my efforts to win, but I am very sorry that it was not possible to earn three points and complete the season on a positive note.
– The team first played in a new form. How’s you a game kit?
– Good kits! All are really cool, in “mining” colors, if you can say so. I liked it, and it was very cool to play in the new form on Shakhtar’s birthday. Of course, I wanted to win and apologize to the fans and all those involved in the club for failing to achieve a positive result.
– You just mentioned the birthday of the club. What would I like to say to the fans about this?
– I want to say a lot thanks for supporting both in difficult moments and in times of joy and victories. We are a young team that will progress and become stronger. I hope we will draw conclusions from this season, and it will only be better – we will win new victories.
