“Revocation (certification – ed.) Continues a series of actions of the Government aimed at revenge Harvard for our refusal to abandon academic independence and obey the illegal affirmation of the federal government’s control over our curriculum, our teachers and students. We condemn these illegal and unjustified actions, ”the President of Alan Garber University said.
According to him, the university filed a complaint against which a request for a temporary judicial prohibition.
“The government claims that its destructive actions are based on the fact that Harvard has not completed requests for information from the US Department of Internal Security. In fact, Harvard responded to the Department’s requests, as required by law, ”the university president says.
Earlier, the US Department of Internal Security required Harvard to submit detailed reports on “illegal and violent activities” of foreign students by April 30, threatening with the recall of a program certificate that allows students to receive.
The certificate, as explained, allows universities to issue accepted forms that they can use to apply for a visa to enter the US.
On May 22, the US authorities abolished Harvard’s right to study foreign students.
On April 21, Harvard University sued the US President Donald Trump for billions of federal funding after the university rejected the list of white house requirements, which he said, undermining his independence.
Harvard became the first elite university to openly refused to comply with the Trump administration, which has frozen hundreds of millions of federal funding for numerous universities, forcing educational institutions to make changes to policy. The US authorities have also launched the procedure for deportation of some detained foreign students who participated in the Propate demonstrations, and for hundreds of other students canceled visas.
