If it is introduced, Ukraine may lose up to 50% of CBAM exports.

FRI was voiced by Swam in the list of factors that interfere with the normal work of the domestic business, and from the point of view of the members of the Federation, they need to be resolved at the state or interstate level as soon as possible.
According to the FRU’s research on the impact of CBAM on the economy of Ukraine, the introduction of European carbon tax will reduce Ukrainian exports of products that are subject to the mechanism by $ 1.8 billion in 2026. As the cost of carbon emissions in the European Union increases, the CBAM restrictive effect for domestic exports will reach $ 2.3 billion in 2030 and $ 2.4 billion in 2034. Thus, immediately after the introduction of carbon payment at the border, Ukrainian exports of CBAM products to the EU will decrease by 50.6%.
Recall that the introduction of a mechanism of cross -border carbon adjustment in the EU can have irreversible consequences for the economy, export and employment of the population in Ukraine. Such a cautious was expressed by Ludmila Tsiganok, founder of ESG LIGA, President of the Association of Environmental Professionals (PAEW) and CEO of the Office of Sustainable Decisions. Therefore, the government should immediately contact the EU to delay CBAM for Ukrainian manufacturers.
Earlier, the Association of Producers of Ukraine “UkrCement”, as well as the National Association of Mining Industry of Ukraine and leading participants in the subsoil use market, appealed to the authorities.
