The European market continues to remain open to Ukrainian goods, and now it is not discussed about the termination of free trade between Ukraine and the European Union.
This was stated by Viceremier-Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration-Minister of Justice Olga Stephanyshyn in a comment to “European Truth” after completing a visit to Brussels.
According to her, a subject dialogue was started during the meeting to find a long -term trade solution.
Stephanishina reminded that on May 22, the European Commission approved a list of transitional measures for Ukrainian exports to the EU. They will come into force on June 6 after the current regime of autonomous trade measures known as “trade visa waiver”.
“This is an intermediate solution that avoids the worst scenario and give time to achieve a sustainable settlement under the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the EU,” Stephanishina explained.
She stressed that the European Union is aware of the critical importance of the predictable and understandable conditions of trade for Ukraine in the conditions of war, as well as the key role of agrarian exports in ensuring economic stability.
“There is a clear political will to find a balanced decision by the end of July 2025,” Viceremierka summed up.
Earlier, we wrote that on May 22, the European Commission approved a list of transitional measures to Ukrainian exports to the EU, which would enter into force on June 6, 2025 – then the trade visa waiver will end for Ukraine.
