– Thank you very much for the greetings. I also congratulate all the Kryvorizhians – everyone and everyone – with this important victory. Three years of our cycle were very saturated and interesting. Every year, we made every effort to stay in leading positions. The first year was a period of stabilization of the composition, the second – a real breakthrough with the acquisition of bronze medals. I also consider this third year extraordinary.
We are still in a game for a place that gives the right to participate in the conference league. Ahead of the final tour in Zhytomyr, and we will do our best to take this place, although we understand that there are external factors that can interfere. I want to sincerely thank all Kryvyi Rih fans for your support for all three years of my work.
I always felt you were nearby ”both in difficult moments and during our triumphs. It was especially nice to win bronze awards with you. The atmosphere in the stands was incredible. I was very pleased to work here, and time would tell you what will happen next.
Each coach after a particular cycle must weighing his or her steps. For three years it is a good period, and I, as a person, also feel some emotional burnout. It may have come time. I will announce the final decision after the final match with the Polesie, but I have already taken it for myself.
Thank you for the support, as well as your players. They are incredible. Each of them took a step forward. We do not have “stars”, but everyone knows their role in the field – and it was clearly visible today. In the first half, we had a full advantage, controlled the game, and I realized that we had to score. We succeeded at the beginning of the second half.
In the last 20 minutes, they have already played on the account, focusing on the defense, because they did not yet know the results of other matches. After the final whistle, they learned that Kolos won the Carpathians, and for that, thank you – everything was honest. We stay in the game, and this is the most important thing.
– It seemed that Kryvbas played better in the second half. How do you count?
– I do not quite agree. Our boys were ready to play from the first minute, and this testifies to their good physical training. They lead the game to the end, regardless of account or opponent. Even in the game where we gave way to the Colossus with a score of 0: 1, after the match I thanked the team for the quality of the game. Yes, we were killed, but there are some nuances that relate to our “inner kitchen”.
The most important thing is that we are not standing in place, we develop. All these guys deserve respect because they always fight until the last minute. Each of them has already formed an internal core – they understand how and why they play. And these years were difficult: we, the coaching staff, have made the maximum that the team was progressing and Kryvyi Horn has always been among the leaders.
Will I stay here in the future, whether a new coach will come is not so important. It is important that Kryvbas and Kryvyi Rih deserve to be ahead. I wanted it very much, I want to continue to be genuinely cheering for the club. There are several special teams for me in Ukraine. It is Metallurg Zaporozhye since the Soviet times, the “Zorya” Lugansk and, of course, “Kryvbas”. Despite the difficult time, our boys cope with emotions, play strongly, selflessly. And no one allows themselves indifferent attitude – everyone fights for themselves, for the club, for the city. I am very grateful to them.
– What did the boys say in the break, because there were almost no moments in the first half?
– My guidelines were short and clear. I stressed that in the first half we had full control over the game, but we were missing one – a scorched ball. In the second half, it was necessary to maintain control, add speeds and sharpness in the attack and be sure to implement your moment. This is what Denis Kuzik, our left defender, did, for which I am very grateful to him. He, like the whole team, is a great future.
Honestly, it was not necessary to explain a lot: the boys themselves feel the game and their responsibility. I saw them tuned to the match: just like the duels with Obolon and Colossus. Yes, sometimes we lack the individual skill or attacker who will solve episodes, but it is a matter of development. The team progresses and I’m sure everything will be fine.
– Ahead – an important match with Polesie …
– Concerning the losses – they remain the same as they were before. You could see it on today’s application, so there is nothing new here. As for the game with Polissya … It is of particular importance to me. I was born and raised in Zhytomyr. This is my hometown, I started playing football there, from there I started my journey as a player. My parents are buried in Zhytomyr, many relatives live there. Therefore, for me it will not just a match, but you can say, the last fight.
I will definitely bring this emotion to the guys so that they understand how important this match is. I ask them to get to the maximum, to show quality, meaningful football and to win. It would be the best gift for me.
