Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said this during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada. “The budget of Ukraine is drawn up, voted, executed. Tax, customs fill the revenue part … Concerning additional needs for funds … If such a need arises, we will turn to Parliament with the corresponding proposal and indicate sources of filling the state budget,” the wars said.
Shmigal recalled that in the first quarter of last year there were significant delays in the supply of weapons from partners of Ukraine. This has led to a forced increase in budget expenditures to provide the military with everything you need:
“This year, the situation is unfortunately repeated. Starting from the first quarter, we have reduced assistance from some partners. Accordingly, we were forced to take on additional weapons purchases, especially ammunition for the Armed Forces. This has drawn additional costs.”
According to him, at the moment all the expenses are covered and the Ministry of Defense makes all the necessary purchases and supply to the front line. “If in the second half of the year we will need funds, because we have war and needs, depending on the situation on the battlefield, we will turn to parliament and justify all sources,” the Prime Minister said.
Military expenditures of UkraineWe will remind, according to the Law on the State Budget for 2025, expenditures on the safety and defense sector make up 2.23 trillion hryvnias.
At that time, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Schmigal reported that 739 billion was envisaged for the production and purchase of weapons – a record amount for the country.
The law also provides for an increase in funding for the modernization of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex and the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles.
