The Security Service of Ukraine reported suspicion to two former heads of Zaporozhyeoblenergo.
According to the investigation, in 2019 they concluded an agreement with an industrial enterprise for electricity supply.
According to the agreement, the company had to receive electricity at the tariff of the 2nd class-for objects that do not have their own substation. This tariff implies a higher cost due to the use of additional high -voltage lines and cable systems.
However, the investigation showed that in fact the plant received electricity at the 1st grade tariff, which is much cheaper.
The former top management of the company did not check the accuracy of electricity consumption data, which led to significant financial losses for a state -owned enterprise.
Independent expertise confirmed that the losses amounted to UAH 730 million.
In addition, investigators established another fact of the violation – the excluder of the company illegally gathered confidential information about its subordinates.
He photographed the personal data of employees, which is a gross violation of the right to privacy.
On the basis of the evidence collected by both exeds, they were suspected under Article 367 (2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – official negligence, which led to grave consequences.
The actions of the former CEO is additionally qualified under Article 182 (2) – a violation of privacy. They face up to five years in prison for these crimes.
