The largest children’s Film Festival of Ukraine will be held again in cinemas of 12 cities, as well as online.
From 13 to 22 June The 12th will be held in Ukraine Children Film Fest – The largest Ukrainian film festival for children and adolescents. Traditionally, the event will take place in a hybrid format: festival shows will continue simultaneously in selected cinemas of Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnitsa, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Lutsk, Odessa, Poltava, Ternopil, Khmelnitsky, Zaporozhye, and Chernihiv; For online viewing, the organizers have prepared a special program “The most valuable cargo”.
Cinema and online shows are always free of charge, provided you will start registration, which will start on June 6. For registration of the group more than 5 people should contact the local coordinator.

In theaters of 12 cities, you will be able to watch the films of the international competition, and the best of them will be determined by the audience. These are 7 new tapes from different European countries for children’s audience:
- “Dinosaur” (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia) is the greatest project in the history of 3D animation of Poland, a participant in the main animated festival of the world in Annens 2024. This is the story of a little diplodok who searches for missing parents in the company of a cheerful magician, a weird scientist and a bold pilot.
- “Bookcase” (Germany) is a comedy film adaptation of an international bestseller translated into more than 30 languages. The winner of the Bavarian Film Film 2025. The story of a touching friendship between a hole-in-a-kind bookstore and a 9-year-old girl with a chess who becomes his assistant.
- “The jump in time (Spain) is a scientific and fantastic comedy about two brothers traveling in time, seeking to save their family.
- “District # 5” (Slovenia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia) is the winner of the Film Festival in Locarno and the winner of several awards of the Slovenian film award. Adventure drama about teenagers who are united in the fight against the developer, who seeks to destroy their skate park.
- “Maya, give me the name” (France) is the winner of this year’s Berlin. This is the cartoon of Oscar -bearing director Michel Gondri, who presented the world’s “eternal glow of pure mind” and “Green Hornet”. He dedicated this picture to his daughter, depicting her heroine of various adventures.
- “Lars. Lol” . It is a sensitive drama about a girl who becomes a mentor and girlfriend for a boy with Down syndrome.
- “Last when we were kids” (Italy, France) is a nominee of the national film award of Italy “Donatello”. It is a touching story that unfolds in the summer of 1943 around four children from different social strata. They are united by a strong friendship, which is tested when one of them is taken away by the Nazis. Then the rest goes on a dangerous trip to Italy to save a friend.
In the festival Online cinema The special cargo program will be waiting for. Carefully selected films collection explores the most important mission of adults: protection of childhood even in stormy historical periods:
- “Most valuable cargo” – participant of the competition of last year’s Cannes Film Festival from Oscar -bearing Michel Azanavichus. The story of the logger and his wife, who save the Jewish girl during the Second World War.
- “How Hitler stole a pink rabbit” – The winner of the Bavarian film april 2020. The story of nine -year -old Anna from Berlin, who and his family escapes from the Nazis.
- “Zoo” – A family movie about friends trying to save animals from a local Belfast Zoo under German bombing in 1941.
There will be several special events at the festival that can be joined both in the cinema and online:
Traditional Retrospective screening of film -classics. 2025 – Anniversary for one of the most beloved children’s heroines, which the famous writer Astrid Lindgren created 80 years ago. The festival will show a picture “Popi Dovgapanchokha” (1969) – The most famous screen embodiment of unbridled red rebel that has won the hearts of children around the world.
Show the movie-winner of last year’s festival “Summer Surprises”. It is a film adaptation of a German writer Martin Museer’s Children’s Book, which tells you about a journey of a Fin boy who attracts mess.
A selection of finalist films of the annual children’s film competition, receiving applications to which continues By May 16. During the festival, the professional jury will choose the winners, and visitors and visitors to the movie review – a winner or prize of the audience. The best films will be announced at the closing ceremony of the festival on June 22, and their creators will receive from 5,000 to 10,000 hryvnias.
Earlier, the festival announced that this year’s honorary ambassador was a singer and composer Svetlana Tarabarova. She is actively involved in charitable initiatives aimed at supporting children and military. In particular, Svetlana became the ambassador of the Project “Drawing by the Hero”, and together with the UN Children’s Foundation (UNICEF) created a children’s motor for the song “I and You”, which opened last year’s Children Film Fest. Also, the artist has been a musical producer of the national selection of children’s Eurovision for the second year in a row.
