The Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared a temporary attorney for Poland in Ukraine about the inadmissibility of blocking the border with Polish carriers.
As reported in the Foreign Ministry, this was a meeting with the head of the Embassy of Poland Piotr Lukashevich on May 13.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko met with Lukashevich in connection with the situation near the checkpoint “Dorogosk” on the border with Ukraine, where Polish protesters resorted to blocking the movement of freight transport.
The Ukrainian side called for comprehensive measures to prevent the blocking of transport routes between Ukraine and Poland. Mishchenko emphasized the inadmissibility of the internal political situation on the eve of the presidential elections in Poland on both the economic interests of the two countries and the Ukrainian-Polish relations as a whole.
The Deputy Minister asked the Polish diplomat to ensure that the Polish government and protesters to discuss the causes of their actions and eliminate the grounds for blocking the Ukrainian-Polish border at this checkpoint.
Mishchenko also proposed to make direct contact between the management of the respective ministries of both countries. The diplomat added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is ready to provide proper assistance to this process.
Yesterday, the border guards warned that the movement of trucks through the checkpoint between Ukraine and Poland “Yagodin-Dorogusk” could be complicated.
And at 16:00, Polish carriers launched a protest action near the Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoint on the border of Poland and Ukraine.
We will remind, Polish carriers have already blocked the Ukrainian border from November 2023 until spring 2024.
Earlier, we reported that the permission for holding the action was issued by the Lublin District Court, and the organizers have already declared its readiness to start blockade.
