Preparation for starting up directly on this starting / screenshotFor the first time, the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially shown the use of the 5V28 anti-aircraft missile from the C-200 anti-aircraft missile system.
According to the analysts of “Difens Express”, it took two years since its first known use, when in July 2023 a rocket flew in Taganrog at that time. And for more than a year on the destruction of Russian aircraft DRLV A-50 and the far bomber Tu-22m3, which was shot down on April 19, 2024 at a record range of 308 km.
They point out that there are several important points in the published video that explain some aspects of the true “resurrection” of the elements of the Soviet SCRC of the 1960s. In particular, the standard stationary starting 5P72V was used to start, and not, as it was thought, the newly created mobile version was thought.
“Moreover, the footage shows that these places were launched by these missiles at once, which directly indicates the traces of jet engines on the ground. At the same time, old launch positions were obviously used to launch these missiles,” experts write.
According to them, all this shows how risky these operations were, because Puskov is absolutely not mobile and the opportunity to get out of the impact is simply absent. At the same time, preparation for starting is carried out directly on this launcher, during which the rocket is filled with quite toxic liquid fuel, which requires the use of chemical protection costume.
Analysts noted that the rocket itself did not change from the outside, but all possible changes were touched by only electronics, which could well be processed. Among the possible options are the use of another radar of the backlight for the staffing semi -active head of self -introduction, or the installation of a new active radar head of self -introduction, as an option – passive, in case of beating A -50. They summed up:
“In any case, the use of 5V28 forces of Ukraine’s defense forces are not only unique but much more risky than it was possible to imagine.”
War in Ukraine – use of C -200Earlier, the Times wrote that the bold tactics of Ukrainian air defense, honed in a few years of planning, caused a significant blow to the once dominant air fleet of Russia. During the ambushes, Soviet -era missiles were used. The high -ranking officer of the Ukrainian military intelligence revealed the details of the operation with the air forces. Thus, in May 2022, Ukraine decided to restore the C-200 system and apply it on the front.
Initially, officers who previously operated these anti -aircraft missile complexes and then – engineers who could restore them. The first launch took place in the fall of 2023, but then the rockets were not hit by the target due to the change of the A-50 flight trajectory. However, the military argued that this operation still had a positive effect.
