The Ukrainian delegation to the UN condemned the Russian Choir of the Turkish Choir in the UN General Assembly and Russia’s attempts to assign a victory over Nazism in World War II.

“On Monday, this same hall of the General Assembly was shamefully used by the Russian Federation for the so -called commemorative concert, which, in fact, became a means of spreading Russian propaganda about the so -called Great Patriotic War. It was more like a dance on the bones, ”she said.
Gayovyshyn also rejected Russia’s attempts to visit the Second World War to justify the present aggression against Ukraine and emphasized that in many respects the actions of present -day Russia coincide with the actions of the Nazis.
“Having taken the language of anti -Nazism, Russia tries to justify its own war crimes and crimes against humanity. At a time when we honor the memory of the victims of World War II, Russian missiles and drones continue to strike in Ukrainian homes, hospitals and schools, killing civilians, including children, elderly people and disabilities, ”she summed up.
In April, at least 209 civilians were killed in Ukraine, and 1146 were injured. It was only more in September 2024. This was stated in the latest report of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (MMPLU).
