He recalled that preliminary blocks have led to a significant decrease in the crossing of the border with freight vehicles.
The spokesman also noted that the repair work is currently underway at the Polish Korchova checkpoint, and this may complicate throughput operations. And in the summer, repair work will be carried out in the Ukrainian areas of the border.

Demchenko added that the repair work will try to be completed by the beginning of the summer season, when passenger traffic increases significantly. According to the SPSU spokesman, after the Easter holidays, the passenger traffic decreased and is currently at 80-85 thousand people.
“After Easter, the passenger traffic was kept at a slightly increased level, now it has decreased again to its indicators, which were before Easter, it is somewhere at the level of 80-85 thousand citizens that cross the border daily in both directions,” he said.
At the same time, trying to breach the border, he said, is now fixed less, “even though the weather conditions are much better than in winter.” “On the contrary, the tendency to reduce. It has begun to be fixed last year from July and is actually remains now. But, unfortunately, attempts take place daily, albeit in smaller quantities, ”Demchenko said.
