– Your coach Sandra Zavvskaya. When I look at you on TV, you feel that you know each other for 20 years rather than two. I am right? Because you have a special relationship. A lot of energy, smiles. It looks very easy to communicate, and you are like that. How do you have all day -to -day?
– I think, how everything is done in us, is largely due to what work we did on ourselves – as on personalities, first of all. We both have a very high level of emotional intelligence, and, in my opinion, it is key in any relationship. We really have wonderful cooperation and stunning relationship, but that does not mean that everything was always easy and smooth, as it might seem on the side. There were quarrels and difficult moments.
– But it is normal, without it.
– Of course. This is part of the growth process. The main thing – how you go through such periods and how you can talk to each other. We built this relationship step by step, every day it was very important. We just talked about it two ago. I said then that I often hear from other players when they talk about their former teams, especially in a negative way that they only mention bad: toxicity, tension. But almost no one talks about what they have achieved with these people.
Unfortunately, a very high percentage of toxic relationships between players and coaches. And this is important – to realize that not the result, not the trophies are the main one, but how you spend every day of your career, what you feel, what the way was. This is what really matters when you are one, out of court.
For me, the greatest pride and joy are what we have a relationship in our team. It is never difficult for me to be near these people. We spend almost the whole year together, and if there is no real understanding between you, it is impossible. I think we do perfectly. And I hope Sandra is my last coach in his career. I don’t want to work with anyone but her.
