In Ukraine, from May 8, 2025, the State Consumer Service will start a new direction of work – control over the content of the vacancies. They will be checked for lack of deception or signs of discrimination.
It is reported by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
Such innovations are envisaged by the Law of Ukraine on the delimitation of the powers of the central executive bodies, and the State Consumer Service is given the authority to monitor compliance with the legislation on advertising in the part of employment, explained in the department.
All announcements published by employers or recruiting agencies will be under the monitoring of the agencies. The focus will be on the detection of discriminatory formulations – by age (“up to 35 years”, “young collective”), an article (“only for women/men”), health, race, or ethnic origin.
In addition, experts will record the signs of manipulations – exaggeration of wages without clarification of conditions, silence of important information (for example, night changes or probation), the use of fuzzy or deceptive formulations.
“Employers should now review their ads and bring them into compliance with the requirements of the legislation. This will not only avoid fines, but will also help to maintain the credibility of candidates. Transparent and equal rules for all should apply in the labor market, ”said the Deputy Head of the State Consumer Service Andriy Creytor.
He noted that when discriminatory or misleading vacancies, it is necessary to record the violation and contact the territorial departments of the State Consumer Service or the State Labor.
Currently, 860,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) who can work in Ukraine have no work.
In 2024, real salaries exceeded the full -scale invasion in most sectors of the economy. In the future, wages will increase due to labor deficits.
