The Verkhovna Rada Committee on International Policy supported the transfer to the deputies of the ratification agreement on minerals between Ukraine and the United States.
The People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote about it on Telegram. According to the deputy, the ratification of the document in the session hall of the Parliament, which will open the way to the practical implementation of agreements with the United States, scheduled for May 8.
According to the People’s Deputy, a proposal was made to the text of the Committee’s decision:
- Any additional agreements on the creation of the reconstruction fund cannot be contrary to this agreement;
- This agreement operates throughout Ukraine within the framework of internationally recognized borders.
The People’s Deputy specified that at the meeting of the committee 11 votes were “for”, one – abstaining, two more did not participate in the vote.
Recall that Ukraine and the United States of America have signed an Economic Cooperation Agreement (“Subsoil Agreement”). The first Viceremier-Minister-Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko and US Department of Finance Scott Scott Bessent made their signatures.
According to Shmigal, the US-Ukrainian investment fund will be registered in the United States. Only the first part of the agreement will be ratified in the Verkhovna Rada.
