DBR reported a police suspicion for a deadly accident in Poltava region

On May 6, the State Bureau of Investigation reported on a suspicion of a police officer, which probably caused a road accident on May 2. Then the police officer and serviceman of the Tax Code were killed.

According to the DBR, it is about the accident that happened on May 2 near the village of Machukha. According to preliminary data of the bureau, the person at the wheel of the service car was moving in the direction of Poltava. At the beginning of the descent, he left the oncoming lane for overtaking and allowing the frontal collision with another car.

The accident killed two passengers of a official car – a law enforcement officer and a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another passenger – a civilian – was hospitalized in a serious condition. The driver of another car also suffered injuries.

We will remind that for 2024 police registered 25 781 road accidents with victims. Statistics show that 3 202 of them were killed, another 32,023 people were injured.

Near the village of Zarichany, in Zhytomyr region, five people who were hospitalized were injured in a road accident involving a minibus and two buses.
