Earlier, Brown’s immunity in this case was abolished by the Polish Parliament. Due to the fact that the politician received the mandate of the European Parliament in elections to the European Parliament in June 2024, the prosecutor’s office asked for the abolition of the privilege that protects him from trial, also to the European Parliament.

The insult of a group of persons on religious grounds in the Seimas is not the only accusation that Brown has heard. It is also an incident at the German Historical Institute, where he blocked a lecture on the Holocaust, and an incident in the Krakow court, from which he removed the Christmas tree established there, and then threw it into the trash.

Grzegozha Brown’s excesses will not go unpunished, the Minister of Justice, Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar, assured last week.

The Minister estimated that the request for deprivation of Brown’s immunity, which on Tuesday considered the European Parliament, concerns the intention of charging him for seven crimes.

“Two of them relate to violation of bodily integrity and images of a doctor – director of the National Center for Cardiology. The following three concern different hooligan actions, and the last two accusations are the scandalous behavior of Brown in the Polish Seimas – a public image of the subject of religious respect and violation of the immunity of the body.”

The Minister also recalled Brown’s recent actions, which are the subject of investigation of the prosecutor’s office, in particular in the case of imprisonment of a doctor in a hospital in Olesnitsa.

On April 16, Brown broke into this hospital and tried to prevent the work of Gynecologist Gizeli Jagiel. The doctor had an abortion at the 36th week of pregnancy to a patient who was in a serious mental state.

Brown stated that in the hospital he carried out a “civil detention”, while a doctor who was on duty could not reach her patients. The investigation of this case is conducted by the district prosecutor’s office in Olesnitsa.

The Head of the Ministry of Justice also recalled the “scandalous statements” of Brown during presidential debate, which is also the subject of interest of the prosecutor’s office. It is about proceedings in the case of the image of Jews and calls for hatred.

Other proceedings, both the police and the prosecutor’s office, which the Prosecutor General recalled, is conducted in the case of Brown’s election rally on April 30 in the White Podlaskaya, when the flag of Ukraine was removed from the city council building.

Brown, which in January 2025 was expelled from the Confederation Party, is also expelled from the European Parliament’s meetings in connection with his statements during the Debate of Gender and the disruption of the International Holocaust Victims Day.

Parliament decides to abolish immunity by a simple majority. According to the EU rules, after voting, the head of the EP Robert Metsola must immediately submit a decision to the competent authority of the Member State (in this case to the Polish prosecutor’s office).

The EP is also considering other statements about the abolition of the immunity of Polish MEU. The procedures were launched on the Michael and Dvoyel Vaittka.

In early April, the EP abolished the immunity to other MEPs of this party, Mariusz Kaminsky and Matsya Vonsik, and in mid -March – the head of the delegation “PAS” to the EP Adam Belan.

In the preliminary convocation, the European Parliament abolished the immunity of four Polish MEPs from the same party – Beatate of Camps, Mazurek Beati, Patrick who and Tomasha Portemba.

The abolition of immunity does not mean the recognition of the MEPUPATATA guilty, but only allows national judicial bodies to investigate or trial. The deputies of the European Parliament are elected in accordance with the national electoral legislation, so if they are found guilty of committing a crime, the decision to deprive their mandate is within the competence of the Member State authorities.
