In the Ministry, this decision is called “another important step” on the way to the formation of a transparent customs aimed at reducing corruption risks.
The relevant resolution stipulates that all customs officials will be subject to integrity once every three years, as well as immediately in case of information on possible corruption offenses from state or local authorities.
It is also envisaged that in the case of dishonesty signs, the relevant materials are sent to a special body in the field of combating corruption, and the information contained in these materials is a mandatory reason for the opening of disciplinary proceedings against the customs authority.
Last October President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law № 6490-d On the restart of the State Customs Service (LCA).
The Verkhovna Rada approved the law a month before. The document, among other things, envisages a transparent competition for the head of the LCA with the participation of international organizations, the political independence of the head of the LCA and its dismissal at the conclusion of the audit, the re -certification of all employees within 18 months with the appointment of a new head.
