Nintendo sued the manufacturer of accessories for Switch – Genki / Photo – NintendoNintendo sued the manufacturer of Genki accessories for showing the Nintendo Switch 2 layout and advertised the compatibility of his non -standing console.
The main claim is that Genki began to actively promote Switch 2 accessories before the console itself was officially opened – and did so with a statement about one hundred percent compatibility.
Nintendo insists: It is possible to guarantee such compatibility only in one case: if the company has illegal access to the device or its technical documentation. And if not, then Genki simply deceives customers, speculating on a hype.
The story began in January at CES 2025, where Genki demonstrated Switch 2 layouts that quickly flew the network. At that time, the company claimed that they made them on the basis of origins, and that it did not have a real console.
Nintendo calls such explanations contradictory and inconsistent and requires legal responsibility for trying to make money on a product that has not been even represented by the public.
Earlier, we said that in Japan, a man was sentenced to 2 years in terms of sale for the sale of broken Nintendo Switch. This is the first such precedent at the Motherland of the Console.
