In the duel of the main card in the ring met the boxers of the heavy weight (more than 90.7 kg) – representative of the DR Congo Martin Bakole (21–2, 16 KO) and Nigerian Effe Azhagba (20–1, 14 KO).
Boxers decided not to force events, so the first rounds were spent on intelligence. Both were constantly fencing jabs at a long distance. Bakole acted the first number, Adjagba gave the center of the ring and answered in counterattacks.
In the third round, the Nigerian several times got the opponent with dangerous side. Martin was angry and in the next 3-minute initiated a spectacular exchanging at the near distance, using all his arsenal-Huuki, Jeab and Apercota. Adjagba missed, but tried to wait for the attack on the block in defense.
Gradually, Bakole slowed because of fatigue – it should be noted that on the eve of the battle, the representative of the DR Congo was much more difficult (135.8 kg against 108.9 kg). EFE understood that he won the points on judicial cards, so he bet on the number of blows. Martin was forced to take pauses and did not have time for his opponent.
Gorgeous eighth round from Bakole. He struck an opponent with hail of blows, the Nigerian had to wait for this flurry of attack in defense. Adjagba demonstrated very solid resilience and endurance, despite the fact that he was considered an outsider of this confrontation.
The boxers were unable to determine the 10 rounds more in the results – the judges recorded a draw by the decision of the majority.
Martin Bakole (DR Congo) – Effe Azhagba (Nigeria) – MD 10 (96-94, 95-95, 95-95)
