In Zhytomyr region, 22 religious communities of the Moscow Church have passed to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church over the last two years.

In 2024, 20 Church religious communities passed to the UOC/PCU in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate, and in 2025 – two. There are currently 584 religious communities in the UOC MP.
We will remind, on May 20, 2025 nine months will pass from the moment of adoption of the law prohibition of the Moscow Church. This term was provided for the religious communities that the state considers related to the Russian Federation voluntarily tore this connection.
To make it, the parishes, monasteries and other religious organizations remain for several weeks, but it is already safe to say that the possibility provided by the legislator voluntarily has not used almost no one.
More than 90% of the communities of the church, which is unity with the Moscow Patriarchate, have not fulfilled the rule of law and did not re -register the statutes.
Earlier it was reported that in 2024 the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate became 218 religious communities less – they moved to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Earlier, Zelensky responded to the criticism of the Pope’s ban on the UOC -MP.
We will remind that 265 parliamentarians voted for the ban on the activity of the Moscow Church in Ukraine. There were 29 against, four were abstained.
