A WEDDING guest has faced backlash after modelling a potential outfit people reckon is ”not fit” for a celebration.

The wedding season is fast-approaching – and one person who recently shared a wedding guest outfit idea is fashionista Michelle Nayla.

But while she may have looked fabulous, critics reckoned the ensemble was better suited ‘for an afternoon in a pub’Credit: tiktok/@michellenaylaThe 26-year-old beauty, originally from Switzerland, recently took to TikTok to beg people to ”invite” her to their nuptials, as she had found, what she deemed, the perfect ensemble.

The outfit, the ”plus-size” influencer proudly showed off in a video, was a pastel yellow two-piece from Fashion Nova Curve section.

The figure-hugging ensemble consisted of a sleeveless button-up shirt and a low-rise maxi skirt that fit her curves.

In the clip – which has since taken the internet by storm for all the wrong reasons, the UK-based beauty had styled the co-ord with beige pumps, a slick-back bun and neutral make-up.

Meanwhile, the gorgeous skirt had been pulled down a little, exposing her belly.

All chuffed with the final fit, which is currently on offer for £57, Michelle wrote in the caption: ”Please invite me to your wedding.”

But while the 26-year-old influencer may have looked fabulous, the online reaction was brutal, as over 2,200 people flooded to comments to share their ”honest” feedback.

”This ain’t a wedding fit, regardless of size,” wrote one critic who thought the summery ensemble was too casual.

”Definitely not. Absolutely not. Categorically not. With respect, no,” wrote someone else.

”I think confidence is great but so is modesty,” a third chimed in.

Shocking moment wedding guests carry out sweet tradition in VERY over-the-top way – and it’s left people furious

”Not wedding appropriate imo, seems more like it’s for an afternoon in a pub garden, dinner and cocktails on a summer evening etc – that sort of vibe,” agreed another.

”I am so for body positivity obvi, but this isn’t wedding attire,” read another comment under the video which has racked up over 730k views in just two days.

Wedding guest outfit Don’tsIt can be hard choosing an outfit to wear to a wedding as a guest, especially as you don’t want to mess up and pick the wrong thing.

Luckily, etiquette expert Myka Meier has come to rescue with top tips for not making a fashion faux pas this season.

Myka, founder of Beaumont Etiquette, uploaded a video saying: “Don’t make these two mistakes for a summer wedding.”

The first tip she had was to avoid a pale pink colour as a guest.

The New York-based expert explained: “Okay, first, let’s look at this.

“You think pale pink is a safe colour choice? Er, actually, it’s the colour of the season for brides.

“So imagine showing up to an event, it’s the bride, she’s wearing the same or similar dress as you, you don’t want that to happen.”

You may have a gorgeous floral dress you’ve been dying to wear to a special occasion, but Myka advised you also steer clear.

The etiquette pro continued: “Number two, look at this, you might think it’s safe. Florals, right, summer?

“Actually, it’s the worst thing you want to do because again, it’s on trend for brides to be wearing this year.

“So avoid florals when it comes to a white background, avoid pale pinks or anything sheer, and you’ll be in good shape.”
