The Economic Security Bureau reported to 8 officials and entrepreneurs who are charged with the spell of more than 90 million UAH of budget funds during the purchase of firewood for the army.

It was established that the criminal organization consisted of heads of apartment and operational management (CEU), chiefs of fuel group, authorized persons for public procurement of CEU, former CEU executives and natural persons-entrepreneurs.
According to the investigation, the persons involved in preliminary agreements under direct contracts purchased firewood for the needs of the Armed Forces units in Kharkiv and Luhansk regions at significantly inflated prices. At the same time, some contractors bought fuel timber from other entrepreneurs at lower prices, and then resold its KEU.
Bab analysts have found that nearly 90 million UAH of public funds were appropriated under this scheme.
According to the investigation, UAH 40 million from this money was spent on the purchase of 13 cars, 18 apartments in Kiev, Lviv, Kharkiv and Ivano-Frankivsk, 42 parking spaces in Kiev, Lviv and Kharkiv, non-residential buildings-more GAZ-3102.
Baby detectives, on the basis of the evidence collected, were suspected by eight persons. They may be threatened with imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to 3 years and with confiscation of property.
In order to ensure the compensation of the damage caused to the state, arrests on their assets were approximate value of more than UAH 36 million.
The pre -trial investigation is ongoing, the issue of precautionary measures is being resolved.
Earlier, law enforcement officers exposed the scheme of theft of state -owned councils on defense orders, organized by the Colonel of the Armed Forces.
The Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv arrested the former director of the State Procurement Department of the Ministry of Defense Bohdan Khmelnitsky, who is suspected of corruption.
