Roschina’s father appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross. They confirmed the fact of captivity, but did not have access to it.

In May, one of the released Ukrainian prisoners informed the UP reporters that she personally saw Victoria in a Taganrog detention center.

According to her, they were fed with rotten potatoes. Due to malnutrition, Victoria began to lose weight rapidly. The witness said that the guards later forced Victoria to eat.

In August 2024, according to his father, Victoria was temporarily transferred to the hospital due to critical exhaustion. After hospitalization, she was returned to the pre -trial detention center, but this time – in a single camera.

One of the former prisoners told the UE that at the time of his return from a hospital in Victoria there was a catheter, and the administration began to cook her separate food. He also noted that prison workers asked other women what food she can eat.

Roschina’s father reported that he had a telephone conversation with his daughter in August. According to him, the Ukrainian side asked her to stop the hunger strike in exchange for the promise of liberation.

“I say, ‘Dota, we have to eat, promised you to release.’ And she says, ‘Yes, I promise them,” he told reporters.

According to the sources of the UP in GUR and among Russian managers, Victoria was planned to be exchanged in September 2024. On September 8, she was taken out of the camera to prepare for return to Ukraine. However, the exchange never happened.

One of the witnesses in the pre -trial detention center told reporters that he saw Victoria withdrew: “We asked the girl from the camera to help her go down. With her help she went down. After that, the guard came and said that the journalist never got to the exchange. He added: ‘She was guilty of it.”
